Christ the King

(READINGS: Ephesians 1:3-11. Revelation 19:5-16)

Ice breaker:  Describe how you see Jesus in less than 10 words?

  1. The collect for this Sunday begins “Stir up Oh Lord..” What would you say God should stir up for you?  John 14:14.
  2. How would you describe your quiet time with God?  Regular, daily, weekly?
  3. Ephesians 1:3-11 is a summary of Gods plan and purposes.
  4. What was Gods plan for mankind? (Ephesians 1v4-5)
  5. Can you summarise the gospel in a couple of sentences.  In other words how would you summarise what Jesus has done for us?  We all should be able to simply summarise what we believe and how we came to faith.  Talk about what are the key things you would want someone to know to help them come to Jesus.  What verse would you use to point people to Jesus?  Take time to learn this off this week and write out what you would say.
  6. Think about your best friend.
    1. What makes them your best friend?
    2. How often do you talk?
    3. What do they know about your life?
  7. How would you summarise your relationship with Jesus?
  8. What do you do to develop your relationship?
  9. How do you relate to the picture of Jesus in Revelation 19?
  10. Christians are at war.  The war we fight is summarised in Ephesians 6:12-13.  We are battling against spiritual powers and authorities as we battle for the souls of mankind.
    1. What are the weapons God gives us?
