Weddings

Love God, love each other and love people … bringing God into our love for each other

“…a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one …” (Matthew 19:5).  Christian marriage is the most important decision any couple can make together and we are delighted to see couples make a lifelong commitment to one another and God.

In an age when more people are having civil ceremonies and where the pressure on marriages is ever greater, Christian marriage acknowledges that marriage is a journey to travel with the help and strength of God; the wedding ceremony calls upon God to bless your relationship, witnessed by your family and friends.

For those getting married at Ardess, we require that Christian standards of living are upheld, and that you attend church regularly.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Firstly – please ensure that you book the date with us so we can confirm if the minister is free to do the wedding service and the church is free on that date – contact the Parish Administrator.

Secondly (but VERY important!) at least 8 weeks before your wedding date, you must register your intention to marry with the local council offices (they produce the legal schedule which is the official document that needs to be signed on your wedding day). The application form must be signed by the rector to advise that he is available to marry you on date specified.
